From October 1st 2010 Part L1A and the associated Domestic
Building Services Compliance guide requires that 75% of all light fittings installed be energy efficient. Anyone who has tried
to achieve ratios like this, provide good lighting control with dimming capability on energy efficient light sources &
provide a high levels of design styling will appreciate the difficulty. We
have through experience and research the ability to control low load circuits, manufacture and source light fitings where
the design and performance are of the highest level and plan lighting schemes from one room, to a whole house or office building. What does not work is installing a 'blanket' of low energy recess down lights to
replace or instead of LV or mains halogen down lights. So use energy
efficient products to cross light steps, side light halls and corridors, internally light cove or coffered ceiling structures,
uplight walls, create edge lighting on ceilings, under light cupboards, kitchen islands - in many projects we can achieve
75% or greater of all light fittings being energy efficient.
