Our approach is to use energy efficient light fittings creatively. Really good product is now available in LED, fluorescent and for metal halide format. Also we approach their use primarily as 'low maintain' fittings - do you want to spend the weekend changing light bulbs? What does not work is installing a 'blanket' of low energy recess down lights to replace or instead of LV or mains halogen down lights. So use energy efficient products to cross light steps, uplight walls, create edge lighting on ceilings, under light cupboards, kitchen islands - in many projects we achieve much greater than 25% of all light fittings being energy efficient
